While many mocktails are high in added sugar from syrups and soda, this recipe features a small amount of tart cherry juice, which is high in antioxidants including vitamin A, vitamin C, anthocyanins, and melatonin, and a rich source of electrolytes including potassium, magnesium, and calcium.
Turn this mocktail into a great recovery drink post-workout by adding a pinch of salt for sodium. Keep in mind that fruit juice is still a concentrated source of sugars, so pair this drink with a balanced meal or with some mixed raw nuts, olives, or crudités with hummus to reduce the impact on blood sugar.
