600 g (1.3 lbs) of corn flour
200 ml (6.8 fl oz or ¾ cup) of water
EVO – Extra Virgin Olive oil to taste
A sachet of yeast
Salt to taste
Preparation
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, or on a work surface and mix them to form a homogeneous and non-sticky dough. Roll out the dough with your hands or with the help of a rolling pin until it reaches a thickness of about 1.5 cm (½ inch). Then place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, make holes with the tines of a fork, and drizzle it with some EVO oil and water. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (428 °F) for 15 minutes. It will be ready when it turns a golden-like color. Cut the bread into the typical shape of American cornbread (squares) and enjoy.
